Working as a member of a project team, the Installer is primarily responsible for enhancing over-all jobsite productivity. The Installer will assist with multiple aspects of the cable installation process including pathway construction, rough-in, routing, Telecommunication Room build-out, cable terminations, labeling and bonding in accordance to existing standards.

Education:

    • High School Diploma or GED required.
    • OSHA 30 within first 2 weeks in role.

Experience:

    • (Zero to 1 year experience–Installer I), (2-3 yrs experience –Installer II) working in Structured Cabling or related industry/construction.

    • Able to distinguish color codes

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The standard work environment for this position is an indoors business office and construction environment. Ability to use a computer and/or hand tools while sitting or standing for extended periods of time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear, use hands, stoop, kneel, bend, rotate, push, pull, reach with hands and arms on intermittent to regular basis daily. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  The employee must regularly carry and climb ladders to 20 feet.  The employee may be required to work in tight, confided spaces. The employee must demonstrate regular and on-time attendance.   • Shipping and receiving duties: Inspects all received hardware shipments.

  • Documenting processes and keeping event logs.

  • Installation of various network systems at customer sites.

 

What we need to see:

  • 2-3 years of experience as a data center technician, field service engineer or similar.

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.

  • In-depth knowledge of data center environments, servers, and network equipment.

  • Extensive experience in installing, monitoring, and maintaining data center equipment.

  • Exceptional ability to work as part of a team, provide IT support, and resolve errors.

  • Proficiency in documenting network processes.

Job Summary:

The Superintendent is the overall manager on a medium to large sized project.  The Superintendent ensures that all contracted work is developed, implemented, installed and managed in accordance with the Company’s requirements, including but not limited to:  safety, quality, management and financial performance requirements.  All aspects of the assigned project must be carried out as efficiently as possible with respect to staffing, materials management, financial management customer care and customer delivery goals.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. The Superintendent will recruit, hire, train, manage, supervise, promote, discipline and discharge, if necessary, all project related staff. Effectively manage all human resource issues per Company policies and procedures. Complete recommendations for project related employees’ performance ratings, promotions and pay changes. Provide guidance and mentoring to meet all customer and Company goals and objectives.
  2. The Superintendent acts as the senior Company liaison for operational interface with customer representative(s).
  3. The Superintendent will plan for, manage, monitor and maintain project profitability to achieve Company goals.
  4. The Superintendent will ensure that deadlines are met per customer requirements.
  5. The Superintendent will manage overall workload distribution, staffing levels and monitor the customer delivery and job installation progress.

  11. The Superintendent will perform work consistently demonstrating a detailed level of technical knowledge; troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise.

The Lead Communications Technician will act as the on-site coordinator and crew supervisor for voice and data installation projects. The Lead Comm Tech’s task will be to ensure job completion according to company and customer quality and safety requirements while maintaining the efficiency of the staff assigned to the project.

Job Summary:

The Communications Technician II must possess the ability to perform the technical responsibilities of a Cable Installer and function as a lead member of a technical team. The Technician II will coordinate small groups of installers in the performance of daily workload including adherence to Company safety and quality standards.

  1. The Communications Technician II will install a work area outlet for floor, modular furniture and wall (terminate CAT 3 & CAT 5 jacks. Mount face plates and surface mount boxes correctly. Adhere to IES COMMERCIAL labeling standards).
  2. The Communications Technician II will build closets (Mount and install backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic and hardware). Install grounding for racks, equipment and cable as required. Complete all IDC connections (e.g. terminate 110/66 blocks and patch panels).
  3. The Communications Technician II performs testing: continuity test horizontal and riser cable; use of volt-ohmmeter; troubleshoot opens, crosses, shorts and transpose pairs on horizontal and riser cable; use a tone set.
  4. The Communications Technician II will identify active voice or data circuits.
  5. The Communications Technician II will assume responsibility for effective performance of crew and provide necessary training; coordinate personnel and timeline to complete project.
