About the role
The Manager of Data and Analytics & Strategic Insights is responsible for leveraging our data assets and team of analysts to provide the business with insights that help inform strategic and operational decisions. The ideal candidate will have strong technical abilities, experiencing developing analytics teams and ability to understand business operating models.

Key Responsibilities

Analytics – Collaborate closely with various functional leaders to understand their needs and provide them with actionable insights that are succinctly communicated; Effectively prioritize projects to ensure we are focusing on right things at right time; Give business confidence in our products by utilizing best practices to ensure validity of analytics; Work with director of data and analytics on executing on strategy to move from descriptive to prescriptive analytics through technology, processes, and identification of resource needs.

Data Management and Automation – Understand data structure of the organization and utilize cleansing and blending tools to optimize sources for visualization and analysis; Enhance automation processes to maximize the teams time to provide insights to the business.

Leadership & Development – Work with our team of talented analysts to develop their analytical abilities; implement leading industry tools (Python, R, Tableau, AI/ML) and techniques; continuously assess capabilities and take action to ensure the maturation of the function.

Reporting & Self Service – Manage and enhance reporting both proactively and as required by the business; Oversee our self-service reporting tools to ensure they maximize user experience and provide timely answers; ensure the business is seeking the correct reporting and help drive KPI’s that are valuable.

Key Requirements
To add value to Cochlear in this role you’ll be able to meet and demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and abilities in your application and at interview:

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent work experience
  • 2+ Years of Leadership and/ Coaching Experience
  • 3-5 years of Data and analytics experience
  • 5+ Years of experience working in analytics, finance or equivalent quantitative field
  • Ability to “tell the story”, with data and proven track record of presenting findings to management
  • Strong background in data analysis, statistical modelling and data visualization
  • High proficiency using Microsoft Excel to build models and perform analysis
  • Experience extracting, transforming and loading data for analysis; Ability to automate repeatable processes to create efficiencies and reduce errors;
  • Experience creating, modifying or managing database queries;

Desired Skills

  • Experience with statistical software such as Python/R
  • Experience with Tableau Prep or Microsoft Power Query preferred but not required
  • Experience using SQL/Snowflake or equivalent

  • Target Salary Range/Rate: $105,000 – $120,000 based upon experience, as well as an annual bonus opportunity of 15% of base salary
